Safe water and sanitation are essential for health, dignity and development. Yet water scarcity, pollution and poor management affect billions of people. SDG 6 aims for universal access to safe drinking water, adequate sanitation and hygiene, and the sustainable management of water resources and ecosystems.
• Achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water.
• Achieve access to adequate sanitation and hygiene for all.
• Improve water quality, reduce pollution and increase water-use efficiency.
• Protect and restore water-related ecosystems, including rivers, wetlands and aquifers.
Water is a strategic issue for our region. The Center encourages research on water quality, scarcity, wastewater reuse and transboundary water management, and promotes water-saving practices on campus.
• Join our World Water Day campaign.
• Propose a water-quality research study.
• Adopt water-saving habits on campus.
